Twitter “Exploded” With Dog Photos In Celebration Of International Dog Day

Paquita Gillis October 5, 2019

Dogs lovers across the globe celebrated International Dog Day. This special day is celebrated yearly, every 26th of August. It was first celebrated in 2004 when Colleen Paige, an animal advocate, started the campaign.

As mentioned at the National Dog Day website, dogs live their lives, protecting humans. They display such tremendous loyalty and love. So,it’s only fitting to have a special day to honor them.

This year, lots of dog lovers paid tribute to their beloved furry pals. They posted tons of photos and stories about their dogs on various social media sites. They made Twitter “explode” with adorable and heartwarming tweets about their pooches.

Here are a few of the most adorable tweets in connection with the International Dog Day celebration:

Some dog owners also posted very heartwarming stories of their dogs. Here are some of their touching posts:

International Dog Day is not just about cute photos. It’s not just about sharing funny puppy videos. It also aims to promote excellent advocacy.

It also wants to inspire people to adopt dogs even if they are not pure breeds. It’s about convincing people to take a chance on giving a home to elderly pooches. It’s about saving the lives of these adorable creatures as much as they can save ours.

Here are a few pups who are still looking for a new home and a new family. Hopefully, we can help adopt these adorable pooches:

People should really think about adopting more dogs, especially those who have stayed in shelters or rescue centers for a long time. These pooches deserve all the love and attention, just like any other dog. Hopefully, this advocacy can help invite more people to adopt not just during International Dog’s Day but even in regular days.

Thank you to National Dog Day for these incredible posts.
