Senior Pit Bull Who Have Given Up On Life Gets A Second Chance Thanks To An Amazing Foster Mom

Senior Pit Bull Who Have Given Up On Life Gets A Second Chance Thanks To An Amazing Foster Mom

Paquita Gillis December 8, 2019

Dogs suffering from health problems and injuries that lowers the quality of their life can get depressed about the situation they’re in that they give up on life. Some dogs get too depressed that they end up refusing to eat. When this happens, these dogs slowly waste away and end up dying.

A dog named Chimbey is a great example of a dog that gave up on life. When he was rescued, Chimbey couldn’t walk and was in a lot of pain. Both of his elbow bones on his front feet were sticking out, and Chimbey was in constant pain. He couldn’t even sit, and walking was impossible to do.

Chimbey was already ten-years-old when he was dropped off at the shelter. Not only was his injury causing him pain, but Chimbey was also severely emaciated. He was so malnourished that you would be able to see every bone in his body easily.

Most dogs in Chimbey’s age who have similar injuries are euthanized. There aren’t a lot of people who would be willing to spend thousands of dollars to treat an old dog that’s not even theirs. However, a woman named Elli knew that Chimbey can still be a great pet, and she wants to give him another chance to live a happy life.

Elli is also the founder of a dog rescue organization called Mr. Bones & Co. As soon as she saw Chimbey, she decided to load him into her car and head straight to the animal hospital to get medical treatment. Chimbey went through surgery to get his front elbows fixed.

The surgery went well, but because Chimbey had lived most of his life with the injury, he didn’t know how to walk. He was still afraid of experiencing pain and was reluctant to use his front legs.

Elli fostered Chimbey and guided him throughout the healing process. She wanted Chimbey to get strong enough so he can finally get adopted by a family who will give him the best life. Eventually, Chimbey got a set of wheels to help him move around. Although he wasn’t very coordinated with his movements, Chimbey was glad that he’s moving upright again and not being able to feel any pain.

It took a few more weeks for Chimbey to rehabilitate completely. Chimbey attended physical therapy, and Elli even helped Chimbey to jump on the couch with a little help of some doggie treats.

Chimbey eventually got stronger, and he was able to walk normally again. A woman named Janeen applied to adopt Chimbey and got to meet him in a vet clinic. Janeen fell in love with the senior dog the first time she saw him.

When Chimbey fully recovered and got stronger, he was finally ready to move into his new home with his new family. It didn’t take long for Chimbey to adjust. He even has a new doggie sister who he adores.

Chimbey now has a huge yard to play in and a loving family to spend the rest of his days with. Chimbey is thriving in his new home. Chimbey’s family even put a ramp so he can go down to the yard easily. Here’s a heartwarming video of Chimbey’s story. Thanks to Elli and Janeen, Chimbey is finally able to settle down and have a wonderful life that he deserves.
