Couple Spent Their Wedding Funds To Finance Their Dog’s Surgery

Couple Spent Their Wedding Funds To Finance Their Dog’s Surgery

Paquita Gillis November 6, 2019

The happiness brought by petting a dog is unexplainable for dog-loving individuals. This is the reason why many people will do everything for the betterment of their pooches.

A prime example of this is this couple named Maria and Gareth. The couple adopted a Shih Tzu named Bella. According to them, during the first time they met with the dog, they already fell in love with her.

Bella, though, had to deal with a recurring illness. The dog’s back legs are weak. The original owner of Bella likewise informed Maria and Gareth that if Bella is not adopted, the owner will use the dog as a breeder. This left the two with no other choice but to take Maria.

While the couple knows that there are consequences in adopting Maria, the couple was determined to help the pooch. They brought the dog to their house and gave her the life she deserves.

Bella is now eight years old. With her condition, the dog, from time to time, suffers from muscle pain and leg breaks. According to the couple, though, despite this condition, the dog is still exuding with so much happiness. The couple shared that the dog is a source of laughter for them.

In July this year, the dog injured her left cruciate ligament and ruptured her knee cap. When the couple brought the dog to the vet, the vet informed them that the dog needs to undergo surgery. This is the only way for Bella to survive, said the vet.

The surgery, though, would cost about $14,000. Maria and Gareth are hesitant to lose the dog. They decided to use the money they saved for their wedding day.

The couple said that while they are looking forward to their wedding, they want to save Bella’s life. They added that they can still earn that money. The surgery went successful, and the couple could not be happier with this development.
