For most people, going on a holiday means relaxing by the beach with a cold drink in your hand. It means spending time with family and loved ones and simply having fun. However, for one woman, she ended up rescuing a sick dog.
While vacationing in Aruba, a woman named Melissa couldn’t bear it in her heart to leave the street dogs she saw. One of the street dogs, who she named Ozzy, had one of the worst condition that she ever saw.
Melissa found Ozzy suffering from severe skin disease and malnutrition. Melissa concluded that Ozzy’s been sick for a while and without care, he wouldn’t last long out in the streets.
So, Melissa decided to go back for the dog the next day. She couldn’t find him, but she ended up feeding some of the strays that were also around.
She decided to come back again the next day to look for the sick dog, Ozzy. Eventually, she found him just standing around the corner who looked like he was waiting for Melissa to come back to rescue him.
Ozzy went straight for Melissa with his tail wagging as if he knew that Melissa’s there to help. Melissa made a video of Ozzy and posted it on the internet, hoping that someone would help. That same night, a rescue organization called Sgt. Pepper’s Friends messaged Melissa that they’d be able to help.
So, the next day, went back for the sick dog, and the dog just came out of the bush to greet Melissa. When she opened the car door and called for the dog to go in, Ozzy just went and jumped inside.
Melissa brought Ozzy to the veterinarian. Ozzy had his first medicated bath, and blood was drawn for the laboratory to have a look at his overall health condition. Thankfully, Ozzy’s blood work came back good.
The rescue organization took good care of Ozzy and soon started to recover. He even started to grow back the fur.
Every single day, Ozzy got better. He started to make friends with other rescue dogs. In time, Ozzy will be ready for a forever home. Thanks to Melissa and her family, Ozzy’s been given another chance in life. Here’s a video showing how Melissa ended up saving the life of Ozzy during her holiday.
