Woman Sees A Trash Bag Moving And Finds An Abandoned Puppy Inside

Woman Sees A Trash Bag Moving And Finds An Abandoned Puppy Inside

Paquita Gillis April 14, 2023

On her way to work, a woman named Malissa Lewis decided to take a shortcut. It was a rural road in Kentucky that was rarely taken so Malissa anticipated an easy drive until she noticed movement along the side of the road.

Malissa slowed down and observed a moving trash bag. She had no actual idea what was inside the garbage bag, but she knew that the movement wasn’t because of the wind. So she quickly pulled over and proceeded to check it out.

Malissa ripped open the trash bag upon reaching it and was astonished to see a puppy inside. She believed that whoever abandoned the dog intended for it to die inside that plastic bag. She immediately snapped a photo of the abandoned puppy and uploaded it on her social media account, along with a few scathing comments about the person responsible.

The woman considered doing the right thing and chose to bring the dog home with her. As soon as she got to her home, the rescued puppy began begging for hugs and affection. Despite everything he had gone through, the tiny puppy remained pretty okay.

It is unknown whether the puppy was stolen or discarded in an effort to get rid of her. The police were dutifully notified and they began their investigation.

Since Malissa tweeted the puppy’s story, it has gone viral and several individuals have offered to adopt the dog.

Malissa said, however, that she and her family chose to keep the puppy. They gave him the name Hefty, and he is currently living the life he deserves.

Malissa’s decision to take a shortcut allowed her to save Hefty’s life. She now feels fortunate that fate brought her and Hefty together. If Malissa hadn’t taken the shortcut, Hefty’s fate would have been different and it is something that we dare not imagine.
