Hope For Paws, a well-known animal rescue organization in Hollywood, California, received a report about a mother dog and two puppies living in a junkyard. The dog momma was still young and her children were young as well. Despite all obstacles, she did her best to raise the puppies, but life on the streets is never easy.
While the mother dog was able to nurse her puppies while they were very young, they eventually needed sufficient nutrition. They went hungry since they didn’t have enough food. She lost weight, and the puppies’ development was hampered. Thankfully, they were discovered by a Good Samaritan who decided to contact the rescue agency for assistance.
Lisa Arturo and Eldad Hagar, rescue partners of Hope For Paws, were the first to arrive at the dogs’ location. They spotted the puppies but not the mother when they arrived. They looked for her and discovered her not far from where she had left her children.
The puppies may have been readily taken by the rescuers. But they took their time because they didn’t want to shock any of the dogs. They fed them and assured them that they were not causing them any kind of harm.
Lisa quickly captured the first puppy, which she called Dallas. She got the second puppy a few minutes later and named it Texas. The mama dog grew pretty scared once Lisa had both of her pups.
Eldad took around ten minutes to get the mother to a corner where catching her would be easier. He calmed her, but she was too terrified to realize he was there to assist her. She panicked and tried to flee when he grabbed her with a snare.
Eldad took his time with the mother dog, waiting for her to calm down. He softly massaged her head and looped a leash around her neck once he was satisfied that she was at ease. Later on, he chose the name Mable for her.
Mable, Dallas, and Texas went to the hospital for some much-needed medical attention and baths. They then went to Doggies 911 Rescue in Redondo Beach, where they were placed in a foster family.
At first, the abrupt change in their life was overwhelming for them, but they quickly realized that it was far preferable to spending their days on the streets.
