Off-roading is a very popular activity where one can experience the beauty of nature and at the same time, an adrenaline rush. One great location for off-roading is at Utah’s West Desert.
Matt Bentley is one of the many people who love to go off-roading and decided to go to the West Desert in Utah. One night, he saw something unusual in the desert and decided to take a closer look.
When Matt had a clear view of the animal, he wasn’t sure if it was a dog or some other kind of animal. It had no fur, it was emaciated, and looked very sick. As a dog lover and an advocate for animal rights, he knew that there was no way he could leave the animal behind.
He helped the dog into his car and named it Kelly. Matt immediately rushed to the nearest animal clinic to drop off Kelly and get her treated. The staff at Utah Adoption Animal clinic were more than helpful and immediately started the process of rehabilitating Kelly.
When Kelly was first brought in the clinic, she was completely hairless and skinny. She needed medical attention, and the staff knew she wouldn’t have survived out in the desert for much longer.
Despite her experience, Kelly was so sweet with the people she meets. The shelter volunteers at the took good care of Kelly and attended to her every need.
It took three months of care and love to help Kelly recover. Eventually, Kelly made a full recovery. She gained weight and even grew back her fur. The shelter staff deemed she was ready to get adopted. Kelly’s sweet personality didn’t make it hard for a family to fall in love with her and adopt her.
When Jamie Jacques was signing the paperwork for Kelly’s adoption, Kelly seems to know that she’s going to a loving home. She jumped up the table next to the adoption paperwork as if telling Jamie that she’s ready to go home.
Thanks to Matt, Kelly is given a second chance to have a happy life. Kelly now lives with Jamie’s lovely family, and she even has an older doggy brother named Rocky. Here’s a video showing how Matt found Kelly and how she transformed from a helpless and hairless dog to a very happy one with a body full of soft, fluffy fur.
