A bittersweet reunion between a dog and his owner took place after a fire broke into their Mount Clemens apartment complex in Detroit, Michigan. The reunion happened after a two-week search for the dog who went missing after the tragic incident.
The fire occurred at the River North Village Apartments, where one of Dino Rasera lives. The fire damaged every possession he had, but he was only concerned about his lost pet, Marble.
Marble, a chihuahua puppy, went missing at the height of the tragic incident. As soon as Dino made it out of his burning home, he screamed for her name, but she never appeared.
It gave Dino great distress, but Marble getting lost would be much better than being dead, and that gave him so much hope.
For two weeks, Dino never ceased searching for her. Until one Saturday, a keen driver saw a small black and white dog. He immediately recognized that it was Dino’s long-lost dog!
The driver called Dino, who immediately rushed to the scene to check if it was Marble. And he felt such great relief when he confirmed that it was her.
Police officers believed that the Marble found himself inside the dilapidated building and all the rubble during those two weeks.
With the freezing temperatures, everyone, including Dino, felt amazed by how Marble withstood Michigan’s harsh weather conditions during that time.
Brimming with gratitude, what mattered to Dino is that he has his family and Marble’s precious dog.
He may have lost all his material possessions, but he gained friends and a family, thanks to the community who helped pool funds so they could start over again.
With Marble by his side, he doesn’t mind starting over again and move forward with courage and hope.
