Despite Getting Doused With Paint And Having One Paw Screwed To A Door, Five-Month-Old Dog Couldn’t Stop Wagging His Tail For His Rescuers

Despite Getting Doused With Paint And Having One Paw Screwed To A Door, Five-Month-Old Dog Couldn’t Stop Wagging His Tail For His Rescuers

Police officers from Union County, South Carolina were called in one day when a drug-crazed man locked himself in a bathroom with his pet and started hurting the young pooch. Tyler Austin Jerdo, a known drug pusher, used a power drill and screwed one of the pup’s paws to the bathroom door. He did this twice.

The young pit bull howled in pain, which seemed to delight the cruel man. He even doused the dog with paint. The cops believe that Tyler was probably under the influence of a very strong substance at that time.

Hanging by a paw

The door to the bathroom was heavily barricaded, and it took authorities several minutes before they could push it open. And when they got inside, they were shocked by what they saw. On the other side of the door, hanging by his screwed paw, was the puppy named Asher. The screws were embedded so deep that they didn’t easily come off.

As for Tyler, he resisted arrest, even headbutting one of the officers. He was detained and received multiple charges, including resisting arrest, animal abuse, and possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute.

Specialist

Asher was brought to the local shelter, but a vet said that the injured pup would need a specialist for his wounds. The screws ended up causing a lot of nerve damage. The shelter couldn’t handle the treatment required, so they turned to a nonprofit rescue group for help. They didn’t hesitate to take the dog in.

Asher will receive surgery and stay with a foster home until he fully recovers. A lot of interest in the pooch was generated, but as of now, his health is the priority. The rescue group will keep everyone updated on his condition and notify everyone when he is finally ready for a new forever home.
