Dogs need to be socialized while they are still young so they can get along with other dogs and other people. As dog owners, we are responsible for socializing our pet dogs so they won’t become aggressive. When dog owners fail to socialize their pet dogs, it’s hard for these dogs to adjust when they get older.
Eventually, dogs that are not socialized will typically have problematic behavior, which can be quite challenging for the dog owners to handle. Dogs with problematic behaviors can become a danger to the public. They don’t take social situations well and are often surrendered to animal shelters, which leads to euthanasia if their challenging behaviors aren’t corrected.
A Cane Corso named Ari was surrendered by her family when they moved house. It would’ve been easy for Ari to get adopted because she was seemingly healthy. Unfortunately, Ari wasn’t fond of other dogs and would lunge at people who walked by.
Ari’s behavior made it difficult for her to get adopted. It’s also probable that she would get euthanized if her behavior didn’t change. Thankfully, Ari was pulled from the kennel by an animal rescue organization called Rescue City. A loving foster family fostered Ari.
Cane Corsos are known to be protective of their environment. So, anyone who didn’t live in the home she stayed in was not allowed to come in. Ari proved to be difficult because of her territorial behavior.
So, Ari was placed in a board and train program to correct her aggressive behavior. Ari worked so hard to become a good girl. Ari learned to tolerate dogs more, and she also learned that the rescuers around her are not only there for pets and kisses but also for guiding her and protecting her.
Ari made such amazing progress during her training. Before, Ari would never want dogs to come near the fence of her home. Now, Ari would wag whenever she sees another dog. She would even let cats go near her and still be friends with them.
Ari’s transformation is a miracle. From a problem dog, Ari progressed into a great dog that would be perfect for any family to have. Here’s a video showing how hard Ari worked to become a good girl.
