This Senior Pup Is So Determined To Keep The Life That He Always Had

This Senior Pup Is So Determined To Keep The Life That He Always Had

Paquita Gillis November 7, 2019

At 13 years old, Finn was going on a 20 to a 30-mile backpacking trip. He loves being outdoors with his mom and dad. And he’s clearly crushing what younger pups weren’t able to do.

“Finn has always been like this little machine,” said Bryce LeDuc, Finn’s mom. “He’s always taking care of us, looking out for us.”

Despite his old age, Finn remained to be an active dog. But something heartbreaking happened. And it changed everything in Finn’s life.

Earlier this year, Finn and his family were camping when an accident occurred. The pup was lying on the back of the bed when he suddenly took the 6-foot leap and went out of the back of the van. Finn lost his balance, injuring his back legs.

Because of what happened, Finn’s outdoor time and activities became limited. He struggled adjusting to his new life and somehow got depressed. “We kinda saw the light going out of his eyes a little bit,” said Bryce.

Losing the use of his legs didn’t just affect Finn physically. It also caused him emotional and mental stress. So Bryce went for the best option and got Finn his own wheels.

As soon as Finn got in his wheelchair, his disposition changed. He was ready to go out and explore the world once more. He immediately went to the parking lot and began sniffing things around him.

Finn is the happiest the moment he got out and smelled the fresh air. He’s still getting used to his wheelchair, but he’s unstoppable. He just keeps going, and not even downhills will stop him.

“It’s truly a blessing to be around him and have him as a teacher in life. That’s what Finn has been to me for 14 years. We’re like an extension of each other.”

Finn has been continuously working out for the last ten months. His mom also started him on a muscle formula that has been proven effective in promoting mobility and build muscle mass. And with the determination that he has, there’s no doubt Finn will soon get back on his feet.
