Depression can be difficult to cure. When people become depressed, it may be hard for them to figure out their next move, or where to get help. Typically, depressed patients are given some medicines to help cure their condition. But sometimes, our furry little angels are enough to help us up.
Doggos can inspire us to be better, and in this story, this pooch helped her human in two ways. Their unconditional love is more than enough to heal a broken soul, and sometimes, they also serve as inspirations to those who are clueless on how to go on with their lives.
People like Carol Gardner has benefitted from dogs this way. A couple of years back, Carol got divorced, and her life was spiraling out of control. She had no money, she was depressed, and can’t seem to find a new purpose in life. A close friend then told her that she should either see a psychiatrist or get a dog, to help her with her depression.
Carol opted for the four-legged solution to her problem; she adopted a dog named Zelda. This English bulldog is just a big bundle of joy, and she was able to help Carol move on with her life. But what she didn’t know was that her pooch was going to be instrumental to her finding her new calling.
A few years after having Zelda, a local pet shop created a contest and asked people to make Christmas cards with their dog’s picture in it. Carol made a witty one about being divorced, and it won! This inspired the 52-year-old woman to start her new business called Zelda Wisdom.
These are witty greeting cards that have photos of Zelda wearing different costumes. They became so popular that Zelda Wisdom had become a multi-million dollar company. This goes to show that having a dog in our lives really changes things. It may not always change our financial status, but it can definitely make us better people.
