Stray Dog Is Finally Rescued After Being Trapped On A Ledge For Five Days At Least

Stray Dog Is Finally Rescued After Being Trapped On A Ledge For Five Days At Least

Paquita Gillis January 13, 2023

Residents of Twin Falls, Idaho were surprised to discover a dog stranded halfway down a steep ledge. No one knew how he got there, but he somehow ended up on a ledge that was so small that he had no room to move around. One misstep could cause him to fall down the steep mountain.

Numerous reports were made concerning the dog’s condition, but the authorities lacked the personnel and equipment necessary to safely bring the dog down.

The following five days were spent hopelessly observing the terrified dog, who was unable to move. Thankfully, two courageous men learned of his predicament. And they felt that they had to do something to help the poor animal.

Dave Wright and Richard Jensen are two Friends Furever Animal Rescue volunteers. Dave, the creator of this Jerome, Idaho-based non-profit rescue organization, is an expert rock climber. He thought that with his talents and Richard’s assistance, they would be able to subdue the dog.

The two courageous men devised a plan to safeguard the dog and themselves during the rescue effort. They understood that they needed to act quickly because the dog had been confined on the ledge without water or food for quite some time. In addition, they really do not know if the dog sustained injuries when he fell from the cliff.

Dave and Richard meticulously assembled their equipment, ensuring that everything went according to plan. Soon thereafter, Dave climbed up while speaking softly to the dog. He wanted to maintain the dog’s composure. After gaining the dog’s trust, he was able to carry him to the ground and hand him over to Richard.

The dog, whose they named Clifford, was finally secure. After receiving treatment from a veterinarian, he was placed in a foster home. When he recovers from his minor injuries, he will be placed up for adoption.
