Rescue Of Trapped Dog Gets Funny Live Updates On New York Police Department’s Official Twitter Account

Thousands of Twitter users were amused when they got to join a dog rescue conducted by the officers of the West Seneca Police Department. The cops were called in to save a dog trapped underneath a house. One of the officers at the scene had access to their official Twitter account and posted live updates of the rescue.

A growing number of people followed the developments, and soon many of them were rooting for the officers. They cheered their efforts and waited for the next photo and video updates. In the end, the dog, Buttercup, was saved, and everyone was relieved.

Digging deeper

Two officers were dispatched to a home in West Seneca, New York after a report came in that a dog somehow found herself under a house, and no one could get her out. According to the first Twitter post of the station about the incident, they sent their two best dog whisperers.

The rescuers tried to grab Buttercup, but she was too far to reach. The space between the house and the foundation was also very narrow. So the cops decided to dig a hole. They even had to look for a shovel after several failed attempts of creating a wide hole. All the while, the people were still being updated with videos and photos along with humorous captions.

Followers were worried about the dog but were also amused as the person posting the updates made fun of the two rescuers’ failure to get the trapped pooch out. Somehow, one of the officers shoveled dirt right on his partner’s head.

The people were also getting involved, offering hilarious suggestions on how to get the dog out. One even said the cops should just lift the house.

Eventually, the two cops were able to get Buttercup out. They eventually dug a hole deep enough for one of them to squeeze inside and grab the frightened pooch.

The dog’s owners were very grateful to the two officers for their persistence. They never gave up and had great fun during the rescue.
