Pit Bull Finally Gets A Family Of Her Own After Spending 990 Days Unadopted

Paquita Gillis December 5, 2021

Charlize, a four-year-old Pit Bull mix, stayed at different shelters for 990 long days, 866 of which he spent at the Delaware SPCA. She never lost hope at any point in her journey, as she got more unwearied day after day. Indeed, she was a patient pup, and being one had paid off in the end, for her grit helped her find the perfect family.

Before getting adopted, Charlize initially spent five months at a rescue shelter until the staff transferred her to the Delaware SPCA. The center staff had no idea why no one wanted to keep a charming and lively pup like her. They even mentioned that she was one of the sweetest dogs they had ever met, so they wondered why she did not get adopted right away.

For almost three years, Charlize patiently waited. Although she did not lose hope, she still felt stressed that no one wanted to keep her during her stay at the shelter. Until one day, the rescue shelter resorted to advertising her as much as they could.

Luckily, it turned out that good things indeed come to those who wait. Finally, Charlize found her perfect foster parents, Anna and Matthew, who came to her by chance. The couple saw her photo online and felt love at first sight of her.

Both Anna and Matthew just bought their first house. However, they realized that they still lacked a four-legged member to complete their small yet happy family. They desired to have a dog, and when they heard of Charlize’s story and personality, they adopted her immediately.

At present, Charlize already feels at ease with her new parents in her new home. It seems as if the little pooch has known her human buddies for a long time that she even sleeps beside them every night without hesitation.
