Igor Perfilyer is a photographer by profession. Almost a year ago, Igor did an adorable photo shoot. His subject? Some mop-looking doggos live in action.
While Komondor dogs may have an appearance that makes them look fit to clean the floors, having these shaggy, sheep-style coats is quite normal for them. Because of that, people often refer to them as “mop dogs.” This dog breed has long been known to be excellent in guarding livestock and other properties.

Although they are not as popular in many other countries, it is relatively common to see Komondor dogs in Hungary. This is their country of origin. For that reason, the Hungarian government has declared this dog breed as one of the country’s national treasures. This keeps their breed preserved and protected from any modification.
According to Igor, who hails from Moscow, Russia, working with Komondor dogs is not that easy. Because they are originally intended to guard territories, they tend to become aggressive if someone gets close to them.
Knowing their reputation as protectors, Igor ensured to stay patient while taking the snaps during the photoshoot. He did not push them too far. Igor understands how strong Komondor dogs are, which is why people are usually cautious with them.

Despite being known as an aggressive breed, Igor said that he loves Komondor dogs. He has worked with them in the past, so he has become quite familiar with how to properly handle them. Igor also noted how funny people’s reaction is whenever they see this type of pooch for the first time. Some would even ask why these pups look a lot like a mop.
Indeed, Komondor dog breed is among those with unique appearances in the world of canine. After Igor’s photoshoot with them, they did not only prove to be excellent protectors. They are exceptional models too.
