Miracle Dog Survives An 11-Storey Fall

Miracle Dog Survives An 11-Storey Fall

Paquita Gillis September 2, 2019

Kimberly Bellinger and Bonzo, her 12-year-old Pekingese went to West Palm Beach, Florida to visit her mother. Everything was going well until she saw her pet go out to the balcony. Bellinger thought he just wanted to get some air, but to her surprise, the Pekingese squeezed through the railings. They were on the 11th floor of a building.

Surviving a bad fall

Bonzo used to live as a stray dog before Bellinger rescued him. He was suffering from neurological issues, making it difficult for him to move around. This was the reason why Bellinger was not worried when she saw him go to the balcony. She only realized that trouble was upon them when she saw Bonzo slip and fall eleven floors below.

Everything happened so fast; Bellinger did not have time to process what was happening. The Pekingese was nowhere in sight by the time she made it to the balcony. When she looked over the railing, she saw Bonzo’s body lying on the ground. It was not moving at all.

Bellinger was hysterical, worried that her baby might be dead. She sprinted down the building to see how Bonzo was doing. She was surprised when she saw that her baby was breathing! Bellinger rushed Bonzo to the vet to have him checked. When they were done with all the tests and X-rays, the doctors told her that broken rib aside,  Bonzo was going to be just fine.

The miracle dog

Bonzo stayed at the Palm Beach Veterinary Specialists for five days to recuperate. When he was done with the treatment and medication, he went back to being Bellinger’s meatloaf. He enjoyed all the kisses, snuggles, and food he received from Bellinger when he got home. Watch Bellinger talk about Bonzo in this short video:
