Guy Travels Across The Country With His Six Rescue Dogs

Guy Travels Across The Country With His Six Rescue Dogs

Paquita Gillis May 9, 2020

Lee Asher left his whole life behind to have the adventure of a lifetime. Together with his six rescued dogs, he went across forty-eight states to help more canines in need.

Adventure awaits

With a vision in mind, Lee left his career and bought an RV to help dogs across the country. He only had his best friend and six rescue dogs to help him in his mission.

He wanted to focus on his mission solely, so Lee removed everything else that was distracting him. The inside of his RV looked like it was perfectly built for his fur buddies, and everybody was comfortable.

The plan kicked off when Lee started visiting shelters and encouraging everyone to do the same. He wanted to give people an idea about shelter dogs and how amazing they truly were.

Hopping from one state to the next, Lee also had planned adoption events where prospects could take a look at the shelter dogs. Lee would initially cover the adoption fees until someone volunteered to get the dogs.

The adventure they were having was crazy, but Lee’s team was having the time of their lives. They would spend every single day annoying one another but loved each other’s company.

Lee would sleep at the top of the driver’s seat with two dogs. If you took a glimpse at the whole RV, all you’d see was a big dog pajama party.

The journey

The dogs have met so many new friends along the way. There was even a time where they were followed by an ambulance just so the driver could pet the dogs.

Lee’s hard work started to pay off when the shelter dogs started getting adopted. The end goal was to clear all the shelters, which was a long way to go, but Lee was keeping positive.

This trip was so meaningful because Lee was able to meet and rescue his six best buddies. It was always a breath of fresh air when he’d help a dog out of the shelter.

Seeing the dogs be okay, and having a safe place for them to live meant everything for Lee. It was the best feeling in the world.
