Golden Retriever Protests When His Furry Brother Takes His Spot, And The Golden Pet’s Behavior Is A Major Sibling Rivalry Mood

Golden Retriever Protests When His Furry Brother Takes His Spot, And The Golden Pet’s Behavior Is A Major Sibling Rivalry Mood

Paquita Gillis February 3, 2022

Siblings will always be best friends, but there are times when both get on each other’s nerves. At least, that’s how this Golden Retriever felt about his German Shorthaired Pointer brother.

Golden boy Zazu didn’t like it when his spotted brother, Walle, took his place on the bed. The latter’s usually out and about because he’s a high-energy dog, so finding him beside dad was a shock.

Walle took Zazu’s spot beside dad, and that didn’t sit well with the golden dog. Dad hugged Walle tightly, savoring this rare time when he could just get his energetic dog to be still.

While dad and mom found this whole thing amusing, Zazu was far from amused. How dare his brother take his spot without consulting him, and to add insult to injury, why are the ‘rents laughing?

That’s because you’re jealous, Zazu. You’re cute when you howl and give Walle that side-eye warning. We know, that couldn’t be too fun on your part, but it is for everyone else, okay?

Zazu continued to howl, walking to mom to ask for help. If there’s anyone who could get Walle away, it’s mom. Fortunately, the Pointer sensed his golden bro’s jealousy, so he made to get up.

As soon as Walle was off the bed, the Retriever licked dad’s face and got up on the bed. Zazu lay beside his hooman, at peace at last. He had his spot back and everything’s right once more.

It’s a good thing these dogs are not the type who’d fight it out. Otherwise, this little episode could have ended differently, so thank the heavens for that.

Don’t worry, Zazu, your parents’ love for both of you will be a constant. Nothing in this world will change that, so continue taking care of them. Be a good boy always, hear?
