Fluffy Blind Dog Rescued And Brought Into Loving Home

Fluffy Blind Dog Rescued And Brought Into Loving Home

Paquita Gillis April 9, 2020

Everybody loves the dog that looks like a big teddy bear. But life wasn’t so easy for Teddy the canine.

Teddy’s rough past

Teddy was the most laidback dog you’d ever meet. He didn’t mind a lot of people petting him or other dogs coming close to sniff him.

Gia Raimo, Teddy’s owner, rescued the dog when he was in South Korea. The dog was originally from a slaughter farm and planned to be bred for his meat.

Teddy lived in some sort of fenced-in kennel with four other dogs. He had a small water bowl, but it had green water. The condition was so poor.

Despite that, he still looked fine and was wagging his tail. Seeing him like that had a massive impact on Gia, and she knew she had to do something.

Luckily, a rescue organization was able to step in. They were able to fly Teddy to America and into his new home.

New opportunity

When he first came to the house, Teddy was so afraid to go out of his kennel. The dog was still traumatized by his past. He was avoiding contact and wasn’t being affectionate at all.

Teddy had no idea how to act like an average dog. He was so terrified of everything. Gia soon discovers his terrible eye infection.

Since the dog came from such a bad environment, his health went unnoticed, and the infection was untreated. Gia opted for surgery to remove his eyes altogether.

After the severe surgery, Teddy had this glow and seemed genuinely happier. His timid personality started to become more bubbly.

Teddy was also becoming more affectionate. He’d put his head on Gia’s lap and continuously wanted to be touched. The dog is always expecting treats and is excited to play outside.

Seeing her dog gain confidence was a triumphant feeling for Gia. She notices how the dog trusts her more and is grateful for the opportunity to help the once helpless pup.
