Flock Of Sheep Kept Following This Basset Hound For Some Reason

Paquita Gillis December 7, 2021

For thousands of years, doggos have been around to help us with our jobs. It is widely believed that right after we befriended them, we already assigned our furry best buds their first jobs, and that is to help us with hunting.

Not long after, we tasked them to guard our belongings. Later on, it evolved to them guarding our domesticated animals.

It’s nice to see that thousands of years later, our doggos are still doing these things for us. Although nowadays, our pups need to receive special training to do most jobs. But there are some unique doggos out there who are just oozing with talent, just like the Basset Hound in the clip below.

This talented doggo is Lady. She belongs to mechanical engineer and part-time farmer Michael Jobson. The 33-year-old dog dad raises sheep on his farm in Cambridge, England, with the help of his official sheepdog Tom. However, back in 2014, Michael saw Lady wandering in his sheep pen.

Curious as to how Lady would react to the flock, Michael watched the doggo from a distance. Basset Hounds are known as hunting doggos, and they basically don’t have the skills to become herding dogs. But Lady was different. Michael was shocked when he saw the flock of sheep follow her around.

What’s funny about the encounter is the fact that Lady didn’t care about the flock at all. She just wandered around the pen, inspecting every blade of grass and all the objects that piqued her curiosity. For some reason, the sheep followed the pup everywhere she went.

The flock would even stop every time Lady did. It’s like the pupper had become their unofficial leader, and they’d blindly follow her wherever. Because of this, Michael decided to adopt Lady and made her Tom’s assistant.

Watch Lady working her magic with Michael’s flock of sheep in the clip below.
