Dog Starts Collapsing Whenever It’s Time To Go Home From A Walk

Dog Starts Collapsing Whenever It’s Time To Go Home From A Walk

Paquita Gillis August 14, 2023

Dogs are naturally excited to go for a walk. For them, a walk means a time to socialize with other dogs and stay close to their owners. Case in point, one dog loves going for a walk with his dad so much that he has to collapse whenever it is time to go home.

Meet Ryder, a Labrador and Basset Hound mix or Bassador, who lives with his dad, Sean Tornetta. His favorite activity is walking, so he looks forward to his daily walks with Sean. However, whenever his dad says it’s time to go home, he protests by dramatically flopping on his side and refusing to get up.

Ryder’s silly antics were caught in a video, and it was uploaded on Twitter for everyone to see. In the video, Ryder can be seen flopping on his side toward the end of the walk since he didn’t want to head back home yet. His dad pulled his leash a little to tell him to get up, but still, he refused to go.

Sean couldn’t help but laugh at Ryder’s behavior. He knew it was all an act, but he played along to see how far his dog would go. This was not the first time Ryder dramatically collapsed when they were just a block from their house, so he knew what to do.

Instead of picking Ryder up and carrying him back home, Sean used one thing his dog loved most: food. He would wiggle his pocket with treats, and Ryder would spring back up instantly as if nothing had happened.

The video now has more than three million views on Twitter, and those who have watched it couldn’t get enough of Ryder’s goofy personality. They found his antics funny and adorable at the same time. Some commenters shared that their dogs had also figured out the same trick.
