Broken-Hearted Dog Clings To Favorite Teddy Bear For Support

Broken-Hearted Dog Clings To Favorite Teddy Bear For Support

Paquita Gillis April 2, 2022

Needy is a sweet and affectionate dog who formerly lived with a Philadelphia family. The adorable pooch is highly intelligent and learned several tricks quickly.

Although the dog seems absolutely perfect, the chaotic household he was staying in made it difficult for him to blend in. His family could see that he was suffering, so they decided to surrender him to their local shelter named Animal Care & Control Team of Philadelphia, also known as ACCT Philly.

The owners of the mixed-breed dog hoped that he would find new owners that have a quieter and more laid-back environment. Preferably one that has no other pets.

Teddy bear

Unfortunately, Needy was brought to a shelter that was high intake. It meant that the facility was filled with numerous homeless creatures at any given time. It was probably more chaotic than his former home.

Confused and scared, Needy turned to his teddy bear, his favorite toy that was surrendered along with him. He always had the plush toy by his side and would embrace it whenever he felt stressed. The pooch mostly avoided all forms of contact and kept to himself inside his kennel.

According to one kind volunteer, Needy was very shy at first, but he would show affection when he opened up to a human.

Fozzie

To help Needy get out of the shelter and into a better environment, a volunteer-based rescue group named Chester County Dog Tails started promoting him. They provided exposure on their social media accounts and pleaded for someone to take him home.

Six weeks after he was surrendered, Needy was adopted by dog lovers from Pennsylvania who recently lost their dog. He was renamed Fozzie Bear. He still has his favorite teddy with him, but he also received several new toys from his forever family.
