An Abandoned Dog Shows A Sweet Reaction When She Realizes That She Is Saved

An Abandoned Dog Shows A Sweet Reaction When She Realizes That She Is Saved

Paquita Gillis July 14, 2023

Judy Obregon, the founder of a shelter called The Abandoned Ones Animal Rescue or TAO, knows too well that it is impossible to save every dog. Despite that, she believes that any effort to try helps a lot.

Judy’s heart bleeds every time she finds an abused, neglected, abandoned, or forgotten dog just like the one in this story. But once this dog was rescued, she couldn’t help but show her gratitude in the sweetest way possible.

The place where the dog was found

The Echo Lake Park in Fort Worth, Texas has a reputation for being a spot where people can abandon dying, dead, or unwanted dogs. According to local law enforcers, the place is popular among animal abusers, particularly dogfighters.

Although many of the pooches Obregon finds in the park are already lifeless, she still faithfully looks for animals that may need help.

During one of her tours around the area, the kind woman spotted something in the overgrown grass. It was a thin  and dirty mixed-breed dog. There was a broken tether around her neck. Obregon thought that the dog might have injured herself while she was trying to break free.

Obregon picked up the dog and named her Callie. The pooch probably realized that she was already in safe hands. To return the favor, Callie planted a sweet kiss on Obregon’s cheek.

Despite the abusive treatment that she experienced, the dog was eager to trust, love, and forgive again.

Callie has found a new home

When Callie was taken to the vet, it was revealed that she didn’t have any health-related problems. She tested negative for heartworm, and she had no other injuries.

Callie then stayed at a foster home where she was groomed for her adoption. Because of the dog’s cheerful disposition, it appeared that she was starting to forget what happened to her.

Ultimately, Callie was adopted. The shelter told its followers that the dog now goes by the name of Lucy.
