A Small Dog’s Journey Started With So Much Pain But Ended With Lots Of Love

A Small Dog’s Journey Started With So Much Pain But Ended With Lots Of Love

Paquita Gillis December 6, 2021

Kaira was so small yet she carried a big burden of so having many physical problems.

When rescuers first found her, she was curled up on the sidewalk, shaking, with wounds and her eyes barely seeing things, and it was suspected that she was attacked by other larger dogs. But despite going through so much, she kept wagging her tail in thanks as people tried to help her.

Kaira was so happy just to receive one gentle touch out of all violence she had gone through.

She was taken to the vet and when they got there, she had her wounds cleaned and a drainage tube was fitted to her neck. Kaira’s rescuer was there with her the whole time hoping she would get better. After a few more important tests, she was allowed to be taken home and continue the observation there.

Upon arriving at home, Kaira was given a proper meal and it was probably the first good meal she’s had for a long time and she was very happy about it that her tail wagged the entire time she ate. Despite not being able to see, Kaira looked in her mom’s general direction to show gratitude.

Soon, Kaira’s test results came back and they didn’t look good. Her eyes need surgery to restore her vision, she had parvo but the symptoms didn’t show and she also had a heart condition that would make surgery troublesome. Kaira’s life was basically hanging on a miracle.

It seemed that there was nothing to Kaira’s life but pain but they didn’t give up on her. As they let the vet do the surgery and everything to try and give Kaira a better life they couldn’t help but hope for a miracle. With everything wrong that’s happened to Kaira hopefully, this one would be right.

Lo and behold, the series of suffering has finally come to an end. One of Kaira’s eyes started to recover sight without surgery and she was no longer positive of parvo. A week later, Kaira was discharged and allowed to go home where her new mom took the best care of her and she can finally rest and relax.
