A Dog’s Love For His Kitchen Sink

A Dog’s Love For His Kitchen Sink

Paquita Gillis August 2, 2019

Like most dogs, Franklin loves spending time at the park. Being able to romp around the park’s muddy puddles is a bonus, although it has an undesirable consequence of having a bath afterward. His owner, Anam Rahman, found it entirely a chore cleaning and removing all the gunk and mulch attached to the playful dog’s usually soft fur.

Preparing a dog’s bath isn’t easy, especially for an uncooperative participant like Franklin. No amount of dragging or chasing around the house can make bathtime easier. With her busy schedule as a lawyer, Rahman found the experience extremely difficult and time-consuming.

Rahman suddenly had a lightbulb moment. Why not use the kitchen sink? It would be easier to wash Franklin and more convenient since she didn’t have to prepare a full bath.

Franklin loved his kitchen sink bathtub. As the months went by, the dog grew and started to fill out the tub. The Golden Retriever didn’t mind; he was one dog who certainly looked forward to bathtime.

Usually, when Rahman attempts to carry him to the tub, he balks like crazy. However, carrying him over to the kitchen sink is a different story. He more than willingly jumps into his mom’s arms and settles down in the snug basin.

Rahman realized it was a win-win situation. Franklin gets to chill out in his basin without stressing about bathtime, while she could finish his bath in record time.

Posting their bathing adventures online, Rahman found the comments hilarious. Some people thought it was a trick photo and couldn’t entirely be true. In this case, the truth is stranger than fiction.

Seeing Franklin lounging about in his makeshift bathtub may seem incredibly funny and endearing. Covered in mud or not, Rahman wouldn’t want her dog any other way. She loves him even with all his quirks and antics, making Franklin the perfect dog for her.
