A Dog Wouldn’t Trust Anyone Until He Received A Cheeseburger

A Dog Wouldn’t Trust Anyone Until He Received A Cheeseburger

Paquita Gillis August 6, 2020

Eldad from Hope for Paws got a call to rescue a dog who’s been living on the streets for a while. Hope for Paws is a rescue organization that’s been helping dogs get off the streets and find loving homes.

The rescuer arrived at the scene and saw the dog running all over the place, in grave danger of being run over by passing vehicles. He was told that some residents tried to lure the dog into their yard but failed. Conan was too elusive and scared of everyone for his own good.

However, Eldad has been saving dogs for years, and he has a secret weapon that never failed him: cheeseburgers! It is quite amazing how many new fur friends Eldad has made with cheeseburgers. He threw the hungry dog pieces of the burger while trying to get him near the snare he had set up.

After a lot of the cheeseburger pieces have gone, Conan is much calmer and has allowed Eldad to touch him a little bit. A few more pieces of cheeseburgers later, Eldad was finally able to hug him a little and put a leash around Conan’s neck. The dog still struggled a bit but did eventually gave in to Eldad and, of course, to the call of cheeseburgers.

Teresa, the person who called him over, approached from a distance. Eldad thanked her for letting them meet Conan and also for the help last time with another dog named Brandi. People like Teresa are a big help in finding dogs in need.

In the car, Eldad checks Conan for a microchip but found none. He took Conan to their care center for medical care and a relaxing bath. All that’s left is for Conan to find his forever home. Conan’s name was given to him by a supporter of the organization, and it definitely fits him.
