It doesn’t matter whether you’re in Europe, Asia, or America. The whole world changes drastically as a result of climate change. At the start, it was unsure if it was in motion, but now, evidently, the effects of climate change have become noticeable.
Let’s site the wildfire in Chile as an example. The said country saw more than 1.4 million acres of forests destroyed, some 1500 homes burnt down, and hundreds of thousands of people lost their lives. It seemed impossible to bring the trees back to life, but an incredibly unique team proved there’s always a way for everything.
Three border collies underwent training to wear backpacks and peruse the damaged forest. The pack scattered seeds along the way, and they helped restore plant life in the damaged woods. The dogs loved the work that they did, and they treated it as nothing more than an excuse to have some fun.
Because of their intelligence, speed, and endurance, Border collies proved to be the ideal dog breed for this job. They are sheepherders, so they weren’t likely to chase and injure animals in the area.
Dogs are the best choice for this kind of task because they can travel up to 20 miles a day and can spread 20 pounds of seeds while running. Humans can do this as well, but they can only cover a few miles a day. Drones and robots can also be an alternative, but canines are less expensive, and they have fewer carbon footprints.
According to the group that supervised the task to bring the forest back to life, they now see the positive changes in the woods. Flora and fauna started to return to the burnt forest. It’s an incredibly good sign, and hopefully, there’d be more favorable results in the coming days.
