Jason Brandon is a young man who lived and worked in Miami. His only companion at home is his beloved pet, a Shih Tzu named Polo. The dog was his constant companion and most of his free time was devoted to his pet.
From the moment he took the little pooch home, he had become a massive source of happiness for the young dog owner.
Gone but not forgotten
But this all changed one day. Someone stole his precious pet, and this caused him a lot of grief. He spent countless hours looking for the pup, but it seemed that there was no trace of him. Jason even took some time off from his job so he could focus on his search.
The days passed, and after several months, he started to lose hope of ever finding his dog again. He eventually moved to New York, but he never forgot the dog that mattered so much to his life.
Found in D.C.
Two years after Polo was stolen, Humane Law Enforcement officers from a D.C,-based Washington Humane Society, found a severely matted dog locked up inside a small crate. The canine was found beside a dumpster and it was very obvious that he had lived a difficult life. He looked neglected.
Not only was the dog malnourished, but his nails were so long that they curled inwards to his paws. The overgrown nails dug deep and caused a lot of pain every time he walked. It was a good indication that the pup was kept in a cage most of the time.
Reunited with owner
Back at the shelter, a vet cleaned the pup and scanned him for a microchip. Thankfully, the dog had one. His name is Polo and is owned by a man named Jason Brandon. The shelter staff got in touch with him right away.
Jason was overjoyed when he heard that his pet was found. He arranged for some time off so he could go to D.C. and retrieve him. When he was finally there, he and Polo had a sweet and emotional reunion. The smile on Jason’s face was priceless.
The two may have been separated for a long time, but Jason’s love for Polo never diminished.
