Eldad Hagar, the founder of the charitable institution Hope For Paws, headed out right away after receiving an urgent call about a homeless dog that required his help. Apparently, the pup lived on the streets of L.A. for many months, and people failed to rescue it. So when he got the chance to save it, he made sure he caught the pup.
Arriving at the rescue site, Eldad saw a Poodle mix under a parked car. He approached it slowly but it felt terrified and bolted. He followed the pup until it walked into someone’s yard, and it gave him the perfect opportunity to catch it.
Fasby needed a haircut so the rescuer took him straight to the groomer for a day of spa treatment. Later on, they proceeded to the vet’s office for medical care before heading out to his foster home. And before long, he was finally in his new home.
About a month later, Eldad got a call from a woman named Crystal, who found an injured dog wearing a collar with two tags. One of them read Hope For Paws while the other one had the pup’s name and it’s Buffy. He was confused, but after connecting the dots, he recalled it was Fasby.
Turned out, Buffy went out for a walk with Marilyn when a coyote appeared right in front of them. She shooed the wild animal away, but he slipped out of his collar and ran in the same direction as the coyote did.
Marilyn’s friend, Ron, ran after the animals. When he caught up to them, he saw the coyote holding Buffy in its mouth. It dropped the poor pup when he showed up, but the ludicrous dog chased it again. And for the second time, Buffy got bit before he fell to the ground.
Ron thought the dog was dead so he carried it back home. He placed it gently right on the ground and called Marilyn out. To their surprise, the dog was nowhere to be found.
They searched for Buffy and their other friend, Tracy, showed up. She said the coyote came back and she scared it away. The dog, meanwhile, saved its life and ran in the opposite direction, and that’s the exact moment when Marilyn got Eldad’s call.
It was a terrifying event and Buffy proved he’s a real trooper. After getting urgent medical care, he went home as if nothing happened.
